Daylilies

Daylillies are often referred to as "the perfect perennial." They are long-lived, will tolerate all soil conditions except wet and boggy, and they flourish in a wide range of climates.

How Daylilies are Classified
Foliage Types
Evergreen – Foliage stays green until heavy frost. In warm climates they continue to grow during winter months. They should be mulched in Zones 5-6.
Semi-Evergreen – Leaves die back in colder climates and stay partially green in warmer areas. Should be mulched in Zones 5-6.
Dormant - Leaves die to the ground in all climates and emerge again in spring. These varieties tend to be the hardiest. They perform better in cooler regions, Zones 10 and lower.

Bloom Times
Extra Early –The first to bloom, varying from March-April in southern areas to May-June in the north.
Early – Come into bloom a few weeks before the massive midseason bloom.
Midseason – Most are in full bloom during this time, usually June-July, depending on your location.
Late – Start blooming several weeks after midseason.
