Comments: A large growing, dense, variegated, evergreen shrub with spiny ridges on both the top and margins of each leaf. Young shoots have purple stems. Makes a great hedge plant. In 1993 the Royal Horticultural Society selected this cultivar for the Award of Garden Merit.
