Comments: Leaves emerge in spring bright orange-yellow with dark pink margins maturing to a light green. Fall colors are orange to yellow with red highlights. 'Akane' translated means "glowing evening sky". The larger size is an old stock plant with a trunk caliper of three-quarters of an inch.
