Growing Conditions: moist, well-drained soils
Comments: A selected seedling from Acer shirasawanum made by Carl Munn in the late 1980's. Observed for many years to determine its overall characteristics it was patented (PP #16718) and released a few years ago. Emerging spring leaves are a vivid carmine red with lime green veins. Mature foliage is carmine red with gold and lime highlights. In areas with hot summers may need some protection from the afternoon sun.
