Common Name: Blue Moon Kentucky wisteria
Growth Habit: vigorous vine
USDA Zone: 4-9
Growing Conditions: moist, well-drained soils. Drought tolerant when established
Exposure: full sun for better flower production
Comments: Probably the hardiest wisteria around. U.S. Gardeners in far northern locations succeed with 'Blue Moon' where Chinese and Japanese wisterias have not survived cold temperatures. There are reports of success in some protected USDA Zone 3 locations, but we can't guarantee this is the norm. In Zone 4, it is a good idea to protect young plants in the winter with a good mulch and burlap-wrap around the lower trunk.
Plant Size: 2-year old
