Growth Habit: native habitat seen as conical tree, in cultivation large shrub
USDA Zone: 7-9
Exposure: full sun
Growing Conditions: moist, well drained soils
Comments: Found in Chile and Argentina. Peeling, furrowed rich red-brown bark. Arching, dark-green leaves in whorls of three. In its native habitat it is an endangered species and is protected. A crossdated age of 3622 years for a specimen from Chile was verified in 1993. This gives it the second-greatest age recorded for any living tree. Ours aren't quite this old, but still are nice, healthy specimens.
Note: These are in standard 15 gallon nursery containers, 17 x 15 inch, and may require additional shipping charges. Please inquire.
