Acer palmatum 'Yuki yama'
Size: see below
USDA Zone: 6-9
Exposure: filtered light best. Protect from afternoon sun
Growing Conditions: moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil
Comments: Much anticipated variegated form of 'Mikawa yatsubusa'. Though the leaves are about the same size as its parent they emerge pink, a combination of pink and white or speckled pink over green. Leaves mature to ivory or white for summer and finally orange and red in fall. Internodes are very tight as it rarely grows more then an inch a year. Our larger plants are 15 years old.
