Comments: Totally unique, shallowly divided, 7-9 pointed lobes resemble a bat's wing. The light green leaves with numerous small dots of white are accentuated by the contrasting dark green mid-rib of each lobe. The mid-ribs are also enhanced with a near white line on either side. When leaves first appear in spring they are an unusual pale pink-yellow. One of the oldest known specimens is in the Villa Taranto estate in Italy. Estimated to be 95-100 years old it measures 12 feet high and wide.
