Growth Habit: large (6 feet x 3 feet wide)
USDA Zone: 7
Exposure: filtered to full sun
Growing Conditions: evenly moist, well drained acidic soils
Primary color: white, pink, lavender
Bloom Time: early-mid, mid-season
Comments: Probably the first species rhododendron I grew when I started my own nursery in the 70's. Even after all these years has remained a favorite. Lightly scented trusses with a prominent blotch appear atop and along the branches on this twiggy upright. Equally appealing is the long, narrow blue-green foliage. Responds well to pruning.
