Comments: This selection finds all side branches growing in a downward angle. New growth is a striking powder-blue and brilliant, dark purple cones in late summer make a nice contrast against the older green needles. Picea engelmanii's native range are the higher elevations predominately in the Cascade Mts. and The Rockies. Ironically this selection was made from a tree in Germany in 1899.
